California: Day 3

It just keeps getting better!

This morning waking up in Grant Grove Village was a sure treat. This little cabin that we called home last night was just the cutest. After waking up, we headed to the restaurant for breakfast.

A hearty one at that full of pancakes, eggs and bacon (which I’ve been craving since this trip started…)

Then we packed up camp and headed to Grant Grove to see the General Grant tree.

We walked about the grove for a while, snapping lots of photos of the things we saw.

I still can’t get over the size of these trees! It’s just amazing. The General Grant tree is the 3rd largest Sequoia (by volume) and the widest there is at 40 feet!

After our time at the grove, we hopped into the car and headed for Fresno. Here we stopped at In-N-Out Burger for a late lunch before driving he rest of the way into Yosemite.

The drive let us see a whole new side to California. Lots of dry grass and brown – there was hardly any green!

And then there was YOSEMITE. We drove into it and first made a stop at the Pioneer Village. This was pretty neat; I took tons of photos of the village on my camera. I promise to add a few once I’m home and get them to a computer.

After the Village, we continued on towards Yosemite Valley, where we will be staying for the next 3 nights.

If you ever get the chance to see Yosemite, you must. Because after the Tunnel, you’ll completely understand. Driving out of the tunnel to this view is an experience I think everyone should have.

We stayed here for quite some time just taking in the view, and marveling in the beauty of Gods creation. It’s just amazing!

We arrived to housekeeping camp and gathered all of our things into our new home (eh eh … rustic home.)

And that’s a wrap on day 3.
