I can not believe I have finished my FOURTH bullet journal! This planning system has really been a game changer for me, and – as always – this latest journal is my favorite.
I chose to go with the ever-popular Emerald colored Leuchtturm1917 this time (BACK INTO A DOT GRID I MIGHT ADD…), and because my journal was emerald, I decided to use that as my color scheme as well.
I’ve been eyeing the Tombow Dual Tip Brush Pens… but I’m having a hard time justifying the price. So instead, I just recently got a mega pack of generic Crayola markers. There were like 100 markers in this pack, so I have every shade of every basic color there is. They work for adding color.
I got into doing a lot of fun lettering this time around. And I mostly used a fun little trick that I learned here to do that. I’m afraid of my own handwriting when it comes to making things pretty. I’ve been using this trick since my second bullet journal.
I also got very “quote happy” in this journal. Probably because I finally realized that I could copy entire fun quotes from Pinterest into my journal and pretend like I did them myself.
I think the calendex system is pretty cool, and in my second journal it didn’t really work for me. So I was determined to make it work this time… #anotherfail. I just don’t think my brain really works this way – but I’m sure this won’t be the last time you’ll see the calendex from me.
I also tried to work out some memory pages, which I really liked adding things to this that I didn’t have to write or draw out.
I really, Really, REALLY want a portable photo printer (like a Poloroid Zipp or HP Sprocket). But, they’re pricey, and I can print and cut/paste photos into my journal from the printer I already have, so I make do with what I’ve got.
I tried my hand at some meal planning & shopping list spread ideas.
And even a workout spread (that I never used).
I liked this version of a weekly spread that tracked my meals, water, weather and outfits for the whole week. I used this for about a month.
And since this journal was the final journal in 2016, I did a fun several-page spread of 2016 in review with photos and a little journaling.
