The Time I Drove Up Whiteface

When you’re single, and people tell you never do things alone because people will take advantage of you… it can be hard to have a life, especially when you’re independent and thrive on spending time alone.  And it only took me until I was 28 to finally say screw it… and take off on a little road trip of my own.

We had been camping at Moreau Lake State Park for Columbus Day weekend, and as we were leaving, instead of heading home, I hopped on the Northway and drove to my favorite spot.

Getting off of the Northway at Route 73, I continued North towards Chapel Pond and Lake Placid.

I decided I’d take a drive up Whiteface, not really realizing that it was a holiday and it would probably be swamped.  But the wait wasn’t too bad and I was in for some pretty spectacular fall (and winter!) photos.

After my time on the summit, I drove back down and headed home.  But not without stopping for a few more photos along the way!
